UAE Weather: Temperatures Soar Above 50°C While Rainfall Hits Eastern Region

The UAE Weather is experiencing extreme and opposite weather conditions today, i.e, on 14 July 2025. On the one side, the country sees scorching temperatures in some regions of the country. 

On the flip side, unexpected rains covered other areas of the nation. The duality of the climate is officially confirmed by the National Center of Methodology (NCM). In addition, the authority has also issued a warning to residents who are living in the affected region. 

UAE Sees Extreme Heat as Temperatures Cross 50°C

According to data released by the NCM, Al Dhaid in Sharjah recorded the highest temperature of 50.2°C at 2:00 PM. However, the lowest temperature recorded was 27.1°C in Damtha, Al Ain. The lowest recorded was early this morning at 5:00 AM. This shows the broader difference between day and night in the weather of the UAE. 

Dust and Strong Winds to Reduce Visibility This Week In The UAE Weather

Besides the heat, the nation is going to face dusty conditions and strong winds. The NCM has warned that the speed of the wind is expected to reach up to 40km/h. It could cause ‌blowing dust and reduce the horizontal visibility, especially in deserts and open regions. Therefore, motorists and outdoor workers are advised to stay alert and take precautionary steps during the peak wind hours. 

Rainfall Brings Relief to Eastern Regions Amid the Heat

Although the residents and citizens are dealing with the extreme heat in the UAE. Surprisingly, light to moderate rain was reported across parts of Sharjah, Fujairah, and Khor Fakkan. The NCM reported that rain fell in areas including Wadi Shees (Sharjah), Masafi (Fujairah), and the road from Khor Fakkan to Shees.

These rains are attributed to the formation of convective clouds. Notably, these clouds are popular for triggering localized showers, especially over mountainous terrain.

NCM Announces Yellow and Orange Alerts for Rain and Clouds

Due to the unstable weather conditions, the NCM has issued a yellow and orange alert for rain in Fujairah and Khor Fakkan on Monday afternoon. However, these alerts are a signal for the development of convective clouds that could bring unpredictable climate conditions, including wind gusts and sudden rainfall. The NCM has forecasted that chances of rainfall and convective clouds will persist through Friday, July 18, especially over the eastern regions of the UAE.

Stay Safe: Tips to Handle the Extreme Weather Conditions

You are advised to follow the following tips to stay safe during the extreme heat conditions of the UAE:

  • It would be best to stay indoors and avoid going outside during peak afternoon hours (12 PM – 4 PM).
  • You should avoid long drives in dusty or rainy conditions.
  • It would be best to keep yourself hydrated and limit outdoor activity.
  • You have to keep checking the NCM alerts via their official website or app. 
  • You could also use sun protection (umbrellas, sunscreen, head coverings)

These suggestions are going to help you to preserve your health and be safe during the whole summer season. It would be best to keep your eyes on the official social media accounts of the NCM.

The rare mix of severe heat and rain that the UAE sees today highlights the country’s diverse and unpredictable weather conditions, especially during the hot season. The NCM is playing an important role in alerting and protecting residents about the weather shift.
