UAE Weather Today Turns Unstable with Rain, Cloudy Skies & Dusty Winds

Currently, residents in the UAE are witnessing a sudden shift in the UAE weather today conditions. Light rain was recorded in Sharjah around 12:50 PM today, shortly after early morning showers graced Khorfakkan.

These showers highlight a broader atmospheric conversion as dense clouds spread along the eastern coasts. In addition, it could bring unstable weather and possibly more rainfall in the hours and days to come.

NCM Issues Advisory on Atmospheric Pressure Systems

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the reason behind the recent weather instability is a surface low-pressure system extending from the east due to a weak upper-air low-pressure system.

This mixture of the combination is building partly cloudy to hazy conditions, which could increase the chances of convective cloud formation. This condition could particularly affect over eastern and internal regions of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The expert has predicted that there could be a slight increase in the temperature. In addition, the humidity level increases moderately during the day. Notably, these atmospheric developments are features of the mid-summer transitional weather in the UAE, where a minor change in pressure could result in significant fluctuation in visibility, wind speed, and precipitation.

Dusty Winds and Reduced Visibility Expected

The NCM also released a warning for dusty winds that could affect many emirates in the country. Moreover, the wind may blow at a speed of 10 to 25 km/hr. Notably, the speed could surge up to 40 km/hr, which could lead to blowing dust and reduced visibility on the road.

Currently, winds are blowing from the southeasterly to the northern easterly. Moreover, it is expected to remain light to moderate overall. However, it may feel fresh occasionally during the day.
