Residents across the emirates witnessed a change in UAE weather patterns this weekend, as dusty winds swept through Dubai on Saturday afternoon. So, it creates hazy conditions and lower visibility.
However, the highest temperature recorded today was 46.1°C in Owtaid (Al Dhafra region) at 15:15 UAE Local time. Therefore, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has shared the latest weather outlook that highlights the temperature range, wind activity, and expected conditions on Sunday.
Dusty Skies and Reduced Visibility
Although the day in the nation started as a bright, sunny Saturday in Dubai quickly became hazy as the strong wind carried dust across open areas and highways. So, motorists were urged to drive cautiously and reduce speed because of the visibility drop. In addition, authorities also urged residents with respiratory issues to take precautions because dust particles in the air could aggravate sensitivity.
UAE Temperatures and Humidity Levels
The NCM confirmed that temperatures across the UAE on Sunday, August 24, are expected to range between 28°C and 44°C. Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are forecast to see highs of 41°C. However, the lowest temperature recorded today was a cool 23.2°C at Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah at 3:30 am. Therefore, it offers a refreshing contrast to the hot and dusty lowlands.
Tomorrow, the humidity levels are set to fluctuate between 20% to 85%. So, it could peak at 75% in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Thus, such humidity is going to continue to make outdoor activities challenging during midday hours due to soaring daytime temperatures.
Wind and Sea Conditions
The forecast indicates southwesterly to northwesterly winds at light to moderate intensity at 10 to 25 km/hr. However, it could occasionally strengthen up to 35 km/hr. So, these gusts were responsible for today’s dust-laden skies in Dubai. Moreover, the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to stay calm with only slight waves.
What to Expect on Sunday for the UAE Weather
Looking ahead, Sunday’s forecast suggests fair to partly cloudy skies. However, there is a high chance of increased cloud cover by night in northern and eastern regions. Moreover, winds are expected to follow the same pattern because they could be light to moderate but freshen at times. However, maritime conditions are expected to remain calm, which could give stability for coastal activities.
