UAE Weather Update: Siberian High Arrives

The long-awaited winter feel is finally returning to the UAE weather. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), temperatures across the nation are expected to fall by around 6 degrees compared with November. So, this condition could bring crisp evenings and cooler mornings.

This shift comes as the Siberian high extends its influence over the region. So, it signals the subtle and refreshing onset of the winter season in the UAE. If you were missing those slightly chilly nights with light jackets, fresh breezes, and gentle winter sunshine, that weather is now perfectly aligned with outdoor plans, beach walks, and late-evening outings.

Cooler Nights, Higher Humidity, and Fog Formation

As the UAE residents, you can expect humid nights and foggy mornings over the coming days, especially over inland and coastal areas.  Moreover, the NCM warns of fog or light fog, especially around dawn when humidity peaks.

Plus, low clouds are also expected to form over islands and part of the western region. Hence, it has added a touch of winter ambience to early morning commutes. This increase in humidity is usual for December, as cooler air masses travel across the Gulf water. So, it has raised the chance of fog formation across the internal areas.

Chance of Light Rain Over Western Coastal Regions

The winter forecast has indicated light rainfall overnight and into early Friday mornings. Moreover, the highest chances are more than in western coastal regions and islands, where low-pressure systems may trigger occasional showers throughout the month. However, heavy rain is not expected. Still, these brief showers are expected to contribute to the cool, which will be crisp weather that is the winter transition in the UAE weather.

Wind and Sea Conditions: Smooth and Pleasant

Winds are going to remain light to moderate, which could blow from the south-east to north-east at speeds of 10–20 km/h, occasionally reaching 30 km/h. Moreover, the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are forecast to stay slightly. Hence, it could make it an ideal period for outdoor activities, beach visits, and waterfront plans.
