Public Celebrations: What’s Allowed
The MOI motivates residents to express their patriotic spirit. However, they should only celebrate through approved and safe methods. Below are the accepted methods to celebrate:
Using official Eid Al Etihad vehicle stickers
You can decorate cars wth the authorised stickers, which is a popular tradition across the UAE.
Raising the UAE Flag
Hoisting the UAE Flag is one of the most meaningful methods to celebrate the UAE National Day 2025.
By following these guidelines, you can enjoy the festivities of Eid Al Etihad without harming anything.
Banned activities during UAE National Day

The MOI has also outlined a list of banned activities during UAE National Day celebrations to maintain order and prevent accidents. However, these actions can lead to fines, penalties, or even vehicle impoundment. You can know the details about those activities below:
- Participating in random parades or unauthorised gatherings
You can avoid joining these gatherings. Instead, you can only join the approved parades to avoid disruptions and ensure safety.
- Blocking or obstructing traffic
You should never stop on busy roads or form gatherings on highways because it is a dangerous and prohibited practice.
- Stunt driving and reckless behaviour
You are also required to avoid car drifting, racing, and dangerous stunts, as these activities could pose a serious risk to your life.
- Leaning or hanging out of car windows or sunroofs
You may find it a common way to celebrate any occasion, but it is banned during the celebration of the UAE National Day.
- Overloading vehicles
If you are a driver or someone who is planning to go for an outing, you must ensure that passengers are seated properly because overcrowding is not allowed. It is among the banned activities during UAE National Day.
- Covering windows or concealing licence plates
Windows or number plates of the vehicle should not be covered by anything to ensure the vehicle is identifiable for safety or legal purposes.
- Unauthorised vehicle modifications and excessive noise
You are not allowed to implement temporary or permanent modifications that create loud noise or disrupt public peace.
- Wearing scarves unrelated to the Eid Al Etihad occasion
During the celebration period, you are not allowed to wear any scarves that are not related to the national day. It is also included in the list of banned activities during the UAE National Day.
- Raising any flag other than the UAE flag
You should not be allowed to raise any flag other than the UAE flag during the celebration period.
- Using spray paint on vehicles
You cannot use spray paint on your vehicles, even to decorate it.
- Playing loud music not related to the National Day
You should also avoid playing loud music during the celebration. However, you can play the patriotic songs related to the UAE National Day.
Authorities have warned that non-compliant vehicles could be impounded. In addition, severe fines could also be imposed on the violators.
Respectfully Hoisting the UAE Flag on National Day
