The UAE weather is set to stay unsettled today. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), rainfall is expected in parts of the country. Moreover, falling temperatures and strong winds are expected, particularly in the northern and eastern regions.
Where is the rain in UAE today?

According to the latest NCM forecast, rain is likely during daytime hours over some northern and eastern areas of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It means that Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and nearby mountainous zones could experience rain. Moreover, parts of Dubai might also see a brief shower of rain, especially under cloudy conditions.
Weather conditions today, Tuesday, December 30, are expected to be fair to partly cloudy. However, it could become cloudy at times. Moreover, the chance of rainfall is higher during the day with cooler temperatures and gusty winds.

UAE weather today: Strong winds and reduced visibility

The NCM has warned that northwesterly winds will be moderate to fresh and occasionally strong, blowing at speeds between 15km/h and 30 km/h. Plus, gust could reach up to 60 km/h. Hence, these winds are expected to stir up dust and sand.
These conditions could significantly reduce horizontal visibility, especially in open and desert areas. Motorists are advised to drive with caution due to these conditions, especially on highways and in low-visibility areas.

Sea conditions: Rough to very rough

Marine conditions will stay challenging today. The NCM has forecast rough to very rough seas in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Hence, authorities have issued a warning for fresh northwesterly winds reaching up to 40 km/h, with wave heights in the Oman Sea climbing to around 6 feet from 05:45 Tuesday, December 30, to 00:45 Wednesday, December 31.
Fishermen, sailors and beachgoers are urged to follow official advisories and avoid unnecessary marine activities until conditions improve. In addition, it would also be best to avoid swimming in these conditions.

UAE weather today Sharjah
Temperatures are expected to range between 16 °C and 24 °C in Sharjah. Therefore, it could make it one of he coolest emirates today. Moreover, cloudy skies and gusty winds are expected to dominate the region with a little chance of rainfall under cloud cover.
On the other hand, Abu Dhabi and Dubai will experience temperatures between 19°C and 25°C. Some internal and northern areas could see a drop in temperature as low as 12°C. Hence, it could mark one of the coolest spells of the season.

Weather outlook for the coming days
Unsettled weather conditions are expected to continue tomorrow. Fair to partly cloudy skies and low cloud formation are expected over the island and coastal areas. Winds will stay moderate to strong at times, which could cause blowing dust, while seas stay rough to very rough in the Arabian Gulf.
Conditions are expected to stabilise slightly by Thursday, January 1. However, humidity could increase overnight across the coastal and internal regions. The NCM has also warned of a chance of fog or mist formation, particularly in the early morning hours. Moreover, winds will be lighter overall. Sea conditions are also predicted to ease to moderate or slight.
The UAE weather could remain fair to partly cloudy on Friday, January 2. However, temperatures could rise on that day. Plus, the humidity will persist overnight to maintain the risk of early morning fog. However, sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf may become gradually rough at night.
