The United Arab Emirates is preparing for a monumental celebration for the 54th Eid Al Etihad (UAE National Day). In addition, it is expected to be the biggest event in its history, as the official launch has already been made on July 18 as a part of the Union Pledge Day. Therefore, the official countdown has started for 2nd December 2025. Moreover, the residents of the UAE are eagerly waiting for this iconic celebration.
Will UAE Residents Get a 4 or 5-Day Weekend?
According to the public holiday calendar of the UAE, Eid Al Etihad will fall on Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3. However, There is a high chance of a four to five-day break because Commemoration Day is on Sunday, November 30 (observed on December 1) Monday). Therefore, you could get a break of the 4 days from 1st to 4th December 2025.
There is also the UAE Holiday law that allows for a strategic movement of the public holiday. So, there is also a slight chance of 5 days holiday. Thus, residents and tourists could plan gateways or participate in the festivities.
Behind-the-Scenes Film Teases Mega Event
Eisa Alsubousi, Director of Strategic and Creative Affairs, described Union Pledge Day as “a collective beginning of celebration and collaboration.” A behind-the-scenes video was also released on the 18th of July, highlighting last year’s dazzling event at Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain.
Thus, it set the stage for another visually stunning celebration this year. As of now, the official location for the big event has not been revealed yet. However, the film revealed many talents and skills behind the event production. Therefore, it highlights the dedication and efforts of the country to unity, creativity, and excellence.
Nationwide Festivities to Return with Eid Al Etihad
The main event will not be the only aspect of the Eid Al Etihad celebration. Moreover, Fireworks, drone shows, cultural performances, and Eid Al Etihad zones will be back to iconic locations such as Global Village, Hatta, and Festival Promenade.
These community events are focused on bringing people from all backgrounds together in the shared spirit of patriotism. In addition, the streets will be marked in red, green, black, and white. Moreover, residents are also encouraged to participate in the celebration of the 54th year of unity and progress the UAE National Day (Eid Al Etihad).
