Popular filmmaker ‘SS Rajamouli’ is back with an ambitious project starring Mahesh Babu. In addition, he has made his name with his record-breaking hits, like RRR and Bahubali. Initially, the movie was popular as SSMB29. Now, the working title is ‘Globetrotter’. However, it is still unconfirmed that it is a final title.
Rajamouli surprises fans with a pre-look image on Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday. However, the image shows the protagonist’s chest, adorned with a pendant of Lord Shiva’s trishul and Nandi, with blood stains hinting at intense action. However, the face of Mahesh was intentionally hidden to add to the mystery. In addition, Rajamouli thanked fans for their patience and promised a grand first reveal in November 2025.
Storyline Inspired by Mythology and Adventure
As per the industry buzz, the tentative title of the film could be Gen 63. In addition, Mahesh Babu is expected to play a successor from the 63rd generation of a well-known family. Reportedly, the plot follows his quest for a rare and powerful object. In addition, it could be a mix of Ramayan-inspired themes with science fiction elements.
The film is expected to be set in Kashi, one of the oldest and most spiritual cities. Moreover, the adventure is going to span across continents, which shows the GlobeTrotter theme.
Filming Shifts to Tanzania
Rajamouli has already completed 30 percent of the shoot. Now, the next schedule will begin on August 15, 2025, in Tanzania, where a month-long focus on jungle-based action sequences. However, Kenya was considered earlier but dropped because of the unrest. So, South Africa was ruled out over logistics. Tanzania’s stunning sequence is in perfect harmony with Rajamouli’s grand vision.
Reportedly, Mahesh Babu will appear in many looks throughout the film to depict his evolving journey of his character. Moreover, the cast is expected to be pan-Indian. Furthermore, Prithviraj Sukumaran confirmed his participation, and there are rumors that Priyanka Chopra will join the cast.
Rajamouli is eyeing the global release
The popular producer revealed that the November 2025 reveal will be an unprecedented cinematic event, which is designed to showcase the scale and immersive world of the film. If filming status is on track, production will end by mid-2026. In addition, it is eyeing a release in March 2025.
‘GlobeTrotter’ is positioned to be a landmark in Indian cinema due to the mystery of Rajamouli in developing epic narratives and his proven global reach. In addition, the film has the potential to surpass previous blockbusters in scale and impact.
