Parents and residents across Dubai can now plan anything as the Ministry of Education (MOE) has officially released the Dubai School Calendar for the 2025-2026 academic year. Furthermore, the revised schedule emphasizes the start and end dates, holidays, and breaks for all public and private schools. This includes Dubai schools managed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
2025–2026 Dubai School Calendar Overview
The new academic year in Dubai is going to initiate on August 25, 2025, Monday. However, there will be a unified date for winter and spring breaks, with the last day of school. Moreover, the MoE has mandated that all schools are required to follow the approved calendar.
It ensures that the final assessment will be conducted during the last week of each term. Therefore, it is mandatory for students to attend until the last day. Here is the school calendar for September-start schools:
- Start of academic year: August 25, 2025
- Winter holidays: December 8, 2025 – January 4, 2026
- Classes resume: January 5, 2026
- Spring break: March 16 – 29, 2026
- Classes resume: March 30, 2026
- End of academic year: July 3, 2026
Dubai Private School Calendar
The KHDA has confirmed that all Dubai schools are required to follow the MoE guidelines for the start and end dates and term breaks. In addition, these schools must meet the minimum required number of school days. So, we have listed the school calendar for April-start schools (primarily Indian curriculum):
- August 25, 2025 – resume after summer break
- December 15, 2025 – Winter break starts
- January 5, 2026 – Classes resume
- March 31, 2026 – Academic year ends*

The calendar for private schools with September-start schools is mentioned below:
- August 25, 2025 – resume after summer break

Public Holiday Guidelines
Private schools will give estimated dates for holidays in the UAE, such as Eid, and National Day. However, the final date will be confirmed once announced by the UAE Federal government.
