Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched the IIMA Dubai First International Campus at Dubai International Academic City, a part of TECOM Group PJSC. However, it is a groundbreaking change for higher education in the world.
This prestigious step is the first time the prestigious IIMA has expanded beyond India. Hence, it empowers the goal of Dubai to become a world-class hub for education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
IIMA Dubai Strengthening UAE–India Educational Ties
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted while welcoming the IIMA to Dubai that the presence of this institution shows the deep-rooted collaboration between the UAE and India. However, Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is guiding the vision. So, Dubai is instantly growing as the destination for top-tier students and a global centre for talent.
On the other hand, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also attended the event. So, he described the launch as a milestone in the globalisation of an education in India. Moreover, he highlighted that IIIMA’s Dubai campus is going to stay “India in Spirit, global in outlook.”
Aligned with Dubai’s Economic and Education Vision
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that attracting world-class institutions, like IIMA, is a part of the broader dedication to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the Education 33 Strategy. However, both campaigns focus on strengthening global competitiveness, boosting innovation, and developing future leaders.
Innovative Programmes and Centres of Excellence
The inaugural academic year at Dubai begins with its flagship one-year and full-time MBA programme created for professionals and businesses seeking global management expertise.
The campus is going to introduce two specialised centres mentioned below:
- Case Writing and Development Centre – creating regionally relevant business case studies.
- Startup Incubation Centre – supporting Dubai’s dynamic entrepreneurship ecosystem.
By 2029, IIMA Dubai is going to expand into a permanent campus on dedicated land. Moreover, it further improves the academic environment in the emirate.
A Strategic Milestone in Higher Education
The establishment of the IIMA Dubai campus is a strategic achievement in UAE-India collaboration. So, it will enhance student opportunities, research, and entrepreneurship. Moreover, the first unit already includes professionals from banking, consulting, IT, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.
