Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)  has announced a big upgrade to public transport convenience. Hence, it makes Dubai Metro Feeder Bus Rides free to passengers who are traveling within the same geographic area. According to the Al Bayan Arabic newspaper, the initiative is a part of ongoing efforts to enhance seamless mobility and promote sustainable transport solutions across the city.

How the Dubai Metro Feeder Bus Rides System Works?

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, explained that fares on the Dubai Metro are calculated based on the number of zones that a passenger travels.  The following are the details related to this new system:

  • Fares are charged only once at the start of the trip when boarding the feeder bus.
  • Passengers using the metro or returning on the same feeder bus within the same zone incur no additional fees.
  • Travel in both directions is allowed due to the journey remains within the original geographic zone.

Shakri said, “The initiative shows the dedication of RTA to providing a seamless and sustainable transport experience for all segments of society”.
