Motorists in Dubai and Sharjah are going to see the rollout of the stricter New Delivery Motorcycle and Heavy Vehicle Traffic Rules From Today, the 1st of November 2025. However, the move comes in response to a surge in road accidents involving delivery riders due to rising e-commerce and food delivery activity in the UAE.
The new UAE traffic rules aim to boost road safety, improve traffic flow, and curb reckless rider behaviour. In addition, it ensures safer mobility for all commuters on the big highways and urban corridors in the UAE.
Dubai RTA Bans Delivery Riders From Fast Lanes

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Dubai Police, has officially announced Dubai delivery rider lane ban from using specific high-speed lanes in Dubai. Below are the Lane Rules for Motorcycles in Dubai:

| 3–4 lane roads | Cannot use the fastest lane |
