You know winter has arrived in Dubai when the evenings cool down, the windows open, and everyone starts asking the same question: when does Global Village open?
This year the wait is short. Global Village Season 31 opens its gates on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, and runs until May 2027. For many families in the UAE, it’s a yearly tradition: grilled corn in one hand, a bag of Turkish sweets in the other, and kids pulling you towards the rides.
Whether you’re a first-timer or you’ve been every season since the 1990s, this guide covers everything you need: dates, timings, ticket prices, free entry rules, how to get there, and a few tips that make the night far more enjoyable.
Quick answer: Global Village Season 31 opens on 14 October 2026 at 6 pm and runs until May 2027 under the theme “A More Wonderful World”. What Is Global Village?
Global Village is Dubai’s biggest seasonal outdoor attraction. Think of it as a world tour in one evening. Each pavilion represents a country or region, with its own architecture, street food, handicrafts and shopping. You can walk from Pakistan to Turkey to Thailand in ten minutes, tasting your way through each one.
It first opened in 1997 and has welcomed well over 100 million guests since then. Last season, for its 30th anniversary, it featured 30 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, over 3,500 shopping outlets and close to 200 rides and games.
It’s also one of the most affordable nights out in Dubai. Entry costs less than a cinema ticket, and you can easily spend a whole evening just walking, people-watching and enjoying the free shows.
Global Village Timings for Season 31
Global Village is open every day of the week during the season. The regular hours are:
| Days | Opening time | Closing time |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 4:00 pm | 12:00 midnight |
| Friday to Sunday | 4:00 pm | 1:00 am |
| Opening day (14 October) | 6:00 pm | As announced |
Timings usually change during Ramadan and on special occasions such as public holidays, Diwali, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Always check the official Global Village website or app before a big night out.
Global Village Ticket Prices
Global Village hadn’t released Season 31 prices at the time of writing, and organisers often confirm them shortly before opening. Prices have stayed very stable over recent seasons, so here’s what you paid last season as a guide:
| Ticket type | Last season’s price |
|---|---|
| Value ticket (Sunday to Thursday, except public holidays) | AED 25 |
| Any day ticket (valid every day, including weekends) | AED 30 |
| Children under 3 | Free |
| Seniors aged 65 and above | Free |
| People of determination (with one companion) | Free |
Tickets are usually a little cheaper when bought online through the Global Village website or app than at the gate. Entry gives you access to the park, pavilions and free entertainment. Rides, games and some attractions cost extra.
VIP packs
If you visit often, a VIP pack can be worth it. These bundles include entry tickets, a VIP parking pass, and credit for rides and attractions. Season 31 VIP packs went on general sale from 26 September 2026 and tend to sell out quickly, so don’t wait too long if you want one.
Best Time of the Season to Visit
October evenings can still feel warm and humid, so the first few weeks are best enjoyed after sunset. From November to February, the weather is at its most pleasant, which is why weekends get very crowded. March and April are often a sweet spot: still comfortable, but quieter than peak winter.
If you want the festive atmosphere, plan around Diwali, National Day, Christmas or New Year’s Eve. If you prefer space to breathe, choose an ordinary weekday in early November or late March.
Tuesday Is for Ladies and Families
Here’s something many newcomers don’t know. Tuesdays at Global Village are reserved for ladies and families (except on public holidays). If you’re a group of men or bachelors, plan your visit for another day.
For families, Tuesday is often the best choice. The crowds feel calmer, it’s easier for kids to move around, and you’ll still get the full experience.
What’s New and What to Expect
Every season brings new pavilions, rides and shows, and Season 31 promises “thrilling additions” and new ways to experience the park. Full details are usually announced close to opening, but these favourites return every year:
- Country pavilions with food, handicrafts, carpets, spices, clothing and souvenirs from around the world.
- Street food from everywhere. From Pakistani and Indian chaat to Turkish ice cream, Korean corn dogs and Emirati luqaimat, the food is the main reason many people visit.
- Carnaval with rides and games for all ages, from gentle kids’ rides to high-thrill attractions. Last season, an unlimited ride wristband was offered for AED 99.
- Free live shows on the main stage and roaming performers across the park.
- Fireworks, traditionally on weekends and special occasions. On New Year’s Eve, Global Village is famous for celebrating several countries’ midnights with multiple countdowns.
- Cultural celebrations for Diwali, Christmas, Ramadan and Eid, each with themed decorations and events.
Must-Try Food at Global Village
Ask any regular and they’ll tell you: come hungry. Food is the heart of Global Village, and part of the fun is grazing your way across continents. A few crowd favourites to look out for:
- Chaat, kebabs and fresh parathas at the South Asian pavilions, often the busiest stalls in the park.
- Turkish ice cream served with a playful show by the vendor, plus baklava and kunafa nearby.
- Luqaimat, the sweet Emirati dumplings drizzled with date syrup, best eaten hot.
- Korean and Japanese street snacks such as corn dogs, tteokbokki and takoyaki.
- Grilled corn and roasted chestnuts, the classic winter snack as you walk between pavilions.
Portions are often generous, so sharing plates lets you try more without overspending.
A Simple Plan for Your First Visit
If it’s your first time, the size of the park can feel overwhelming. Here’s an easy evening plan that works for most families and groups:
| Time | What to do |
|---|---|
| 4:30 pm | Arrive, park and enter while it’s still quiet |
| 5:00 pm | Walk the pavilions you care about most and do your shopping before crowds build |
| 7:00 pm | Dinner across a few food stalls, sharing plates |
| 8:00 pm | Catch a show on the main stage or explore the lit-up pavilions |
| 9:00 pm | Rides at Carnaval for the kids, or a dessert stop |
| 10:00 pm | Fireworks if scheduled, then head home before the late rush |
Visiting with small children or elderly parents
Strollers and wheelchairs can be rented inside the park, and there are rest areas, prayer rooms and baby care facilities. The paths are wide and mostly flat, but distances are long, so plan regular breaks. For older relatives, an early weekday visit is much more comfortable than a busy weekend night.
How Much Does a Night at Global Village Cost?
Global Village can be as cheap or as expensive as you make it. Here’s a rough budget for a family of four (two adults, two children over 3) on a weekday, based on last season’s prices:
| Item | Estimated cost (AED) |
|---|---|
| Entry tickets (4 x AED 25) | 100 |
| Street food and drinks | 150 to 250 |
| Rides (optional) | 100 to 200 |
| Shopping and souvenirs (optional) | 50 to 300 |
| Total | About 250 to 850 |
A couple who just walks around, eats and watches the shows can easily enjoy a full evening for under AED 150.
How to Get to Global Village
By car
Global Village is on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), near Dubailand, at Exit 37. There’s a large free car park, plus paid VIP and valet options. On weekends, traffic near the exit can back up after 7 pm, so arriving early helps. Before driving across the city, it’s worth taking a minute to check your traffic fines and Salik balance so nothing catches you out.
By bus and Metro
Global Village isn’t on the Metro line, but RTA usually runs dedicated bus routes from major Metro stations during the season, such as Rashidiya, Union, Al Ghubaiba and Mall of the Emirates. Check the RTA journey planner or the RTA app for this season’s routes and timings.
By taxi or ride-hailing
Taxis and ride-hailing apps drop off near the main entrance. Expect longer waits for a ride home late on weekends, so consider leaving a little before closing time.
Smart Tips for Your Visit
- Go early on a weekday. Arriving around 4 or 5 pm, Monday to Thursday, means shorter queues and easier parking.
- Buy tickets online to save time and often a little money.
- Wear comfortable shoes. The park is huge and you’ll walk several kilometres without noticing.
- Bring a card and some cash. Most outlets take cards, but some small stalls prefer cash.
- Plan a route. Pick the pavilions you most want to see, then wander. Trying to see everything in one night is exhausting.
- Check the events calendar for fireworks and special shows before choosing your date.
- Visit more than once. Many residents go two or three times a season, especially as the weather gets cooler in December and January.
