Bangladesh Embassy in UAE Denies Rumors of UAE Visa Ban, Warns Citizens Against Fake News

The Embassy of Bangladesh in the United Arab Emirates has strongly requested that its citizens refrain from spreading unverified news circulating on social media regarding a supposed UAE Visa ban.

Actually, countless media outlets report that the UAE might impose visa restrictions on particular nationalities, like Bangladeshi citizens, in the coming years. However, these reports are cited from the uaevisaonline.com, a visa processing website, as their primary source. Thus, social media across the globe has been flooded with such posts.

On the other hand, the Bangladeshi Ambassador to the UAE clarified that these rumors are baseless and false. In addition, he said that any official announcement from the UAE authorities does not back them. Moreover, officials in the Emirates have also confirmed that relevant government authorities have not imposed such bans.

Embassy Flags Fake Sources

The Embassy in Abu Dhabi highlighted several inconsistencies linked to uaevisaonline.com. However, these websites are claimed to be based in Dubai. The following are the lists of those sources:

  • Registrant and technical contacts are UK-based
  • Registrar is located in the US
  • The telephone number is Indian
  • The Dubai address listed does not exist

Public reviews also suggest that the platform has a poor reputation and scam-related complaints. So, it further raises doubts about its credibility.

Advisory to Citizens

The Embassy highlighted that Bangladeshi citizens are required to ignore misleading news and share unverified reports online in an official statement. Moreover, the mission warned that such rumors could cause unnecessary panic among expatriates and their families.

The Embassy requested citizens in Bangladesh and the UAE to trust only the official government announcements and the verified embassy statement for accurate information related to visas, residency, and immigration.

Fact-Checking Before Sharing

This case highlights the growing challenge of misinformation on social media. Hence, authorities reminded the public to cross-check information before following or forwarding it. Moreover, the Embassy highlighted that it is important to protect the community’s trust, as thousands of Bangladeshi expatriates are working and residing in the UAE.

No UAE Visa Ban

The clarification from the Bangladeshi Embassy reaffirms that there is no UAE visa ban for Bangladeshi nationals. Therefore, citizens like you are advised to stay vigilant and avoid fraud. In addition, it would also be best only to prioritize verified updates from the official channels. Hence, Bangladeshi nationals can go to the UAE without any worry.
